Amy Holbert

Amy Holbert, MSW, LISW-CP, is a licensed clinical social worker with more than twenty-five years of experience in maternal and child health. She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Family Connection of South Carolina, a statewide nonprofit organization that connects families who have a child with a disability or chronic health condition to the support, resources, training, and services they need to improve the health, education, and well-being of their children and families.
Amy’s background in public health includes serving as Director of Social Work for the Division of Children with Special Healthcare Needs at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control’s Maternal and Child Health Bureau. In that role, she provided guidance over the perinatal regionalized system to ensure the state offers risk-appropriate care for pregnant women and infants.
Amy has served as the Governor’s appointee on South Carolina’s Interagency Coordinating Council and as Co-Chair of the Advisory Council for Educating Students with Disabilities. She is also a member of the Children’s Justice Act Task Force, working to improve the identification of children in foster care who have a disability and contributing to the professional development of DSS staff.
She served as the South Carolina ambassador for the aRPy Initiative—a unique partnership through the Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center (ECTA) at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute. Amy is also a graduate of the Riley Institute’s Diversity Leaders Initiative at Furman University. She has served as CEO of Family Connection since 2014. Unlimited
