Amy Miller Sonntag, SLPD, CCC-SLP, is a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist. She earned her Doctor of Speech-Language Pathology from Northwestern University, her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Ohio University, and her BA from the College of Wooster. She joined the OSU Department of Speech and Hearing Science in 2015 and is also a faculty member in the OSU Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology Certificate Program. In her clinical work, she serves a diverse population of people ages 18 months to adult with a variety of medical diagnoses to aid in enhancing their communication abilities through augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She teaches coursework in AAC for undergraduate and graduate students who are students in a variety of rehabilitation fields including SLP, occupational and physical therapy, rehabilitation engineering, and special education. Dr. Sonntag also provides clinical education and mentorship to graduate clinicians in the MA SLP program in the OSU Speech and Hearing AAC Clinic and participates in research projects related in AAC. Dr. Sonntag currently is the secretary of the USSAAC (United States Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication) Board, a member of the USSAAC Disaster Relief Committee, and has presented at numerous local, state, and national conference on topics related to AAC.
