Ashley, MBA, MS, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, is a board-certified speech-language pathologist with over a decade of experience in direct patient care, project management, service line development, and clinical leadership. She has worked across pediatric and adult populations, with specialized expertise in acquired brain injury, respiratory compromise, and dysphagia.
Her work has been published in the *ASHA Leader*, *Aerodigestive Health*, and *Perspectives of the ASHA Special Interest Groups*. Ashley received ASHA’s Distinguished Early Career Professional Certificate in 2018 and graduated from the Leadership Development Program in 2019. She is an active member of ASHA’s Hispanic Caucus and a former board member. She has presented at local, state, and national levels—including multidisciplinary sessions with nursing organizations—and was recently invited to speak at ASHA’s Upper Airway Online Conference.
Ashley began her term as a site visitor for the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in 2020. From 2021 to 2023, she served as a professional development member and CE content manager for ASHA’s Special Interest Group 13. She currently serves on the adult swallowing committee for the ASHA 2024 Convention.
Beyond clinical practice, Ashley is committed to empowering diverse voices in healthcare. She served as co-chair (2022) and chair (2023) of the Hispanic/LatinX Alliance at Houston Methodist and is a part-time lecturer at the University of Texas–Rio Grande Valley, a Hispanic-serving institution.
