Celeste Roseberry-McKibbin, PhD, CCC-SLP, is a Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at California State University, Sacramento, and a part-time speech-language pathologist in the San Juan Unified School District. She earned her PhD from Northwestern University and has worked across educational and medical settings with clients ranging from preschoolers to geriatric populations.
Dr. Roseberry-McKibbin is the author of over 70 publications, including 16 books, and has delivered more than 380 presentations. She is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and recipient of ASHA’s Certificate of Recognition for Special Contributions in Multicultural Affairs. Her volunteer work in literacy development for children in poverty earned her the national presidential Daily Point of Light Award.
Having lived in the Philippines from ages 6 to 17 as the daughter of Baptist missionaries, Celeste brings a deeply personal understanding to her work. Her primary interests include the assessment and treatment of culturally and linguistically diverse students with communication disorders, and improving service delivery for students from low-income backgrounds.
