Chelsie Esek-Onyeahialam is a highly respected, board-certified Speech-Language Pathologist whose career reflects both academic excellence and an unwavering dedication to healthcare equity. A proud Magna Cum Laude graduate of Howard University with a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Chelsie has devoted her expertise primarily to acute care, where she champions improved access, outcomes, and advocacy for underserved communities. She is the visionary founder of the Annual #BlackSLPMagic Conference, a groundbreaking platform amplifying underrepresented voices in allied health and Speech-Language Pathology. Through this initiative, she has created a national movement to ensure that professionals and clients alike feel safe, seen, and supported—while elevating conversations about neurodiversity, gender diversity, trans visibility, and minority representation. By cultivating an inclusive space for professionals and students, Chelsie empowers others to embrace their identities while advancing the profession with purpose and pride. Chelsie’s educational journey also includes a double major in Dance and Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Texas, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Her dance artistry—rooted in intensive training at GottaDance Studios and advanced programs with Ad Deum Dance Company—reflects her discipline, creativity, and resilience. She has performed with distinction at the American College Dance Association Festival and collaborated with esteemed companies such as ClancyWorks Dance Company, showcasing her versatility across the performing arts. Grounded in her Nigerian-American heritage, Chelsie celebrates culture, community, and connection in every facet of her life. Beyond her professional and creative pursuits, she is an avid reader, fitness enthusiast, traveler, adventurous foodie, and the heart of every gathering she hosts. She proudly embraces her roles as a wife, a devoted aunt to five beloved nieces and nephews, and a dog mom to Kozie, her energetic blue-eyed Miniature Schnauzer. Currently, she is also advancing her scholarship as a Doctor of Health Administration candidate, further solidifying her commitment to leadership, innovation, and equity in healthcare. Through her leadership, scholarship, and advocacy, Chelsie continues to bridge the worlds of healthcare and social justice—transforming awareness into action.
