Diane is an assistant professor at Elmhurst University and a licensed speech language pathologist. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Neuropsychology plus a Minor in Spanish at Florida Atlantic University, where she received the top university scholar award. Dr. Morean earned her Ph.D. in Communication Disorders with certification in Cognitive Neuroscience at Northwestern University. She was subsequently awarded a postdoctoral fellowship to study Advanced Research in the Rehabilitation of Neurological Speech Disorders at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. During that time, she earned another master’s degree in Clinical Investigation. She has authored peer-reviewed journal articles, presented at professional conferences, mentored master’s theses, and taught many undergraduate and graduate level courses. She has been a facilitator for Camp Shout Out since 2018 to be involved in helping children evolve as communicators, in real time.
