MCD, CCC-SLP
Emily Kornman, MCD, CCC-SLP, is the Lead Innovation Specialist and Speech-Language Pathologist at the Team Gleason Foundation. She earned her Master’s in Communication Disorders from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and played a pivotal role in developing New Orleans’ first Assistive Technology Lab dedicated to supporting individuals living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Emily specializes in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), primarily serving adults with neurodegenerative diseases. She is deeply committed to making the world—and the technology industry—more inclusive and accessible for the individuals she supports. A strong advocate for the ALS community, Emily is motivated by the belief that everyone deserves equal access to evidence-based, up-to-date information and tools. As she often hears from clients, “I feel like I’m constantly playing catch-up,” or “No one ever told me that”—statements she strives to help eliminate through education and innovation. Outside of her professional work, Emily enjoys spending time outdoors with her friends, family, and dogs. A New Orleans native, she embraces the city’s vibrant food, music, and festival culture. She’s also an avid scuba diver who treasures every opportunity to explore the deep.
