Heather Thompson, PhD, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center specializing in the evaluation and treatment of oropharyngeal swallowing disorders, with a clinical focus on speech and swallowing restoration for patients with head and neck cancer. She is highly proficient in the management of voice prostheses following tracheoesophageal voice restoration after total laryngectomy.
Formerly the clinical lead for the Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Thompson has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California and California State University Los Angeles. She recently presented at the Society of Physicians Assistants in Ear, Nose and Throat in Los Angeles and co-authored a book chapter on the role of the SLP in head and neck cancer management.
Currently, she is engaged in research involving the lung transplant population and actively participates in community outreach to promote awareness and understanding of speech-language pathology. Unlimited
