Dr. Holly Storkel, PhD, CCC-SLP, is a professor and researcher in the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences and Disorders at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, where she has served since 2001. Her research spans efficacy, effectiveness, and implementation science, with a focus on improving outcomes for children with speech sound disorder and developmental language disorder.
Dr. Storkel’s early work explored why some children acquire sounds and words of their native language with ease while others face challenges. Her current research aims to evaluate and develop treatment approaches that accelerate sound and word learning, bridging best practices with real-world clinical and community settings to help children thrive in school and life.
