Jayanti Ray earned her degrees, including her Ph.D, in India in the late 1990s, then came to the United States and joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor at Washington State University. After teaching there for 5 years, she moved to Southeast Missouri State University, where she currently teaches in the department of communication disorders as a full professor. Notably, at SMSU, she was awarded the Outstanding Teacher Award, 2019, and the Outstanding Researcher Award 2013, 2015, and 2017. Her teaching and research interests are varied: voice disorders, oromyofunctional disorders, cognitive impairments, and neurogenic speech disorders.
