PhD
Dr. Jill Kries is a cognitive neuroscientist whose research investigates how acoustic speech signals are transformed into meaningful language in the brain. Using EEG and naturalistic story-listening paradigms, her work examines neural encoding across both low-level acoustic features and high-level linguistic structure. Dr. Kries studies speech and language processing in neurotypical individuals as well as clinical populations, including individuals with aphasia, dyslexia, and pediatric epilepsy. Her research aims to bridge cognitive neuroscience and linguistic theory to better understand language disorders and inform future diagnostic and intervention tools.
