Kamica L. Barnes, MS, CCC-SLP, is the Coordinator for the Orange County Department of Education, Early Education Programs, Special Education Division. She currently provides professional development, technical assistance and interagency coordination services and activities in support of Early Childhood and Elementary Special Education programs within Orange County. She also coordinates speech and language services for the Orange County Department of Education Special Schools and audiological services for Orange County. Kamica holds a Bachelors of Arts and Masters of Science in Communicative Disorders from the University of Redlands. In her 22 years as an educator, she has held a variety of roles including Speech-Language Pathologist, Special Education Administrator, Clinical Supervisor, University Faculty and Related Services Coordinator. She continues to work as part of collaborative teams to develop procedures, policies and intervention plans for a diverse population of children and adults with disabilities. She is actively engaged in increasing cultural competence and awareness and is part of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion workgroup at Orange County Department of Education. Kamica is dedicated to ensuring that all students have access to high quality education. She is passionate about culture and diversity, inclusive education, meeting the needs of diverse learners and collaborative partnerships.
