Krystal L. Werfel, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Director of the Written Language Lab at the University of South Carolina. Her research focuses on literacy outcomes for children with hearing loss who use spoken language, with a particular emphasis on developing effective assessment and intervention approaches.
Dr. Werfel’s work is supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and contributes to advancing evidence-based practices that promote reading and writing development in children with hearing loss.
