Dr. Lamitra Baez, PhD, CCC-SLP, is a full-time faculty member for the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program at Loma Linda University. Her background as a Speech and Language Pathologist spans over 19 years. She has skillfully held a variety of positions working with children from infancy through adolescence with various speech and language disorders. Her professional interests include language development, differential diagnosis, and cultural diversity. She lectures on language disorders and issues relevant to service providers who serve culturally and linguistically diverse populations. To obtain her PhD in Educational Psychology, Dr. Baez wrote her dissertation on The Relationship Between Culturally Competent Teaching and Special Education Referrals for African American Students.
