Maria Adelaida Restrepo, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science at Arizona State University and Director of the Bilingual Language and Literacy Laboratory. Her research focuses on effective language assessment and intervention practices for bilingual children, with a specialization in oral language development, emergent literacy, and the prevention of academic difficulties. A bilingual speech-language pathologist, Dr. Restrepo has received continuous funding for over a decade to support projects that build oral language and literacy skills in preschool and kindergarten children who speak Spanish as their native language. Her interventions include direct instruction and teacher professional development programs. She is also funded to develop a language screener for Spanish-speaking children. Dr. Restrepo is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a former associate editor for *Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools* (2007–2009). She continues to publish and review research in both English and Spanish, contributing to the advancement of bilingual education and clinical practice.
