Michael de Riesthal, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at *Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC)* and Director of the *Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institute*. His clinical and research expertise centers on the management of neurologic speech, language, and cognitive disorders. Prior to returning to Vanderbilt, Dr. de Riesthal served as a Senior Speech-Language Pathologist at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and was affiliated with the VA RR&D Brain Rehabilitation Research Center in Gainesville, Florida. At VUMC, he is a founding member of the interdisciplinary *Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic* and provides services in the *Huntington’s Disease Clinic*. He teaches graduate-level courses on aphasia, motor speech disorders, and traumatic brain injury, and mentors doctoral research in these areas. Dr. de Riesthal has authored numerous papers and book chapters on TBI, aphasia, motor speech disorders, and progressive language disorders, and has presented extensively across the United States. He has served as Chair of the Education and Standards Committee for the *Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences* and is a Managing Editor for the *Clinical Aphasiology Conference* proceedings in the *American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology*. His work reflects a deep commitment to interdisciplinary care, academic leadership, and advancing clinical science in neurologic communication disorders.
