Michelle Therrien, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Science and Disorders at Florida State University (FSU). She directs the AAC Connect Lab, where her research focuses on building meaningful connections to improve the quality of life for individuals who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Her work places particular emphasis on social interaction and friendship outcomes. Dr. Therrien teaches graduate-level courses in AAC and Developmental Disorders of Communication at FSU, blending research, clinical insight, and advocacy to prepare future clinicians for inclusive, person-centered practice.
