Michelle Wheeler, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist and recognized expert in assistive technology, specializing in augmentative communication devices and alternative access since 2005. She is part of the University of Missouri Healthcare system, working through Mizzou Therapy Services–Neuro in Columbia, Missouri, where she provides AAC evaluations for both adults and children statewide. Michelle also serves as the lead evaluator at one of Missouri’s Medicaid-approved AAC sites.
She has presented at the national ATIA conference and numerous state and local events, sharing her expertise in AAC and access solutions. Michelle teaches the Augmentative Communication course to graduate speech-language pathology students at the University of Missouri and offers guest lectures and lab experiences to students in occupational therapy, physical therapy, and special education programs.
