Mikelia Wallace, MT-BC/L, is a board-certified and licensed music therapist who is passionate about encouraging self-exploration and skill development through music. She is particularly passionate about working with early intervention, neurodevelopmental disabilities, and medically complex youth. Mikelia strives to practice through a neuro-affirming lens and is focused on adapting and adjusting music interventions to accommodate and empower individuals. Mikelia is the only pediatric Neurologic Music Therapist in the State of Oregon. She believes that music therapy is a space that is non-judgmental, safe, and well-organized, where anyone who loves making music can thrive. Mikelia is also heavily involved in music therapy advocacy efforts as a board member of the Oregon Association for Music Therapy, led the effort to establish the Florida Gulf Coast University’s Music Therapy Association, and is currently working to secure music therapy reimbursement for families in Oregon.
