Missy Schraeder, PhD, CCC-SLP, CALT-QI, C-SLDS, is the Director of the DuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of Southern Mississippi, a specialized public school serving students with significant communication disorders. With over 25 years of experience as a nationally certified speech-language pathologist, Dr. Schraeder brings deep expertise in oral and written language disorders, dyslexia, and childhood apraxia of speech. She holds a doctorate in Educational Administration and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Dr. Schraeder is a Certified Academic Language Therapist–Qualified Instructor (CALT-QI) and a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist (C-SLDS). Her previous roles at DuBard include professional development coordinator and classroom speech-language pathologist. Dr. Schraeder teaches in the Dyslexia Therapy master’s program within the School of Education and has served as an undergraduate instructor in the School of Speech and Hearing Sciences. She also leads professional development courses in multisensory instruction, advanced decoding skills, and dyslexia assessment. A frequent presenter at more than 25 regional and national conferences—including ASHA, IDA, MSHA, the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America, and the Ole Miss Fall Institute—Dr. Schraeder is a recognized voice in the field. She holds Mississippi licensure in Speech-Language Pathology and Education (speech-language, pre-K, K–8, and administration). Her scholarly contributions include co-authoring *Children with Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia: Changes in Articulation and Perceived Resilience with Intensive Multimodal Intervention*, along with a range of therapy materials. Her accolades include the Educational Administration Outstanding Dissertation Award, Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award, and the IMSLEC Award for Outstanding MSLE Education in a College or University, as well as eight ASHA Awards for Continuing Education. Dr. Schraeder’s career reflects a deep commitment to evidence-based practice, educator training, and improving outcomes for students with complex language needs.
