Morgan Oates
MA, CCC-SLP
Morgan Oates, MA, CCC-SLP, is a doctoral candidate in Speech and Hearing Science at The Ohio State University, where she also pursues a Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Disability Studies. A two-time OSU alum, Morgan earned her MA in Speech-Language Pathology in 2019 and her BA in Linguistics and Speech and Hearing Science with a minor in Spanish in 2017.
During her clinical fellowship, Morgan worked in a school-based setting, supporting a caseload primarily composed of autistic students and AAC users. Her research explores the implications of double empathy theory, the role of neurotype in language and communication, neurodiversity-affirming supports for autistic adolescents and adults, and the intersections of gender and autism.
Outside of academia, Morgan enjoys working backstage in theatre productions, playing board games, and spending time with her cats. Unlimited
