MS Educational Leadership
Raina Askin, MS Educational Leadership, is a tenacious educational professional with a rich background in teaching and leadership. After over fifteen years of experience as a classroom teacher, Raina transitioned to focus on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) at local, regional, and state levels. Her initial work in MTSS focused on literacy development through all tiers of support with students and educators. This shift in focus through MTSS has significantly improved student outcomes, including increased academic performance and reduced behavioral issues. Raina has also been instrumental in developing data-driven strategies that have empowered educators to make informed decisions, ultimately fostering a more supportive and effective learning environment. Raina's commitment to education led her to serve as the principal of a PreK-12 school, where she prioritized literacy and systems development. Under her leadership, the school saw notable shifts in literacy rates and a more cohesive approach to student support. Currently, she has returned to her passion for literacy as a Regional Literacy Coach and Science of Reading professional development trainer. In this role, Raina supports educators in implementing effective literacy practices, ensuring students have the opportunities for a bright future through enhanced literacy skills.
When she's not busy transforming educational systems, Raina can enjoy Minnesota's unpredictable weather, traversing schools, listening to education podcasts on icy roads in the winter, hiking, water skiing, and dodging mosquitoes in the summer. Her adventurous spirit and dedication to lifelong learning make her a dynamic figure in education. Unlimited
