Sam Telgkamp

Sam Telgkamp, BS, CCLS is a retired certified child life specialist who enjoys spending time with her friends and family, being outside, reading and writing, and assisting with the local high school girl’s lacrosse team. She received her education from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies and a concentration in Child Life. She received her first job as a Certified Child Life Specialist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio working on the hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant floor where she provided support to patients and families navigating the hospital. Three years into this job, at age 25, Sam received a diagnosis of ALS. Due to her diagnosis, she is no longer working in the hospital, but continues to carry the role as an advocate and voice for those living with ALS through her blog, Staying Loudly, and through her membership with a community of women with ALS, called Her ALS Story.
