Sandy Hirsch, MS, CCC-SLP, is a licensed and board-certified speech-language pathologist with 30 years of clinical, training, and educational experience. She earned her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Washington in 1989 and holds a B.A. in French and Classics with a minor in music from the University of Lancaster, England. Formerly an actress and passionate singer, Sandy integrates her background in performance with clinical expertise. She is a Certified Member of ASHA, WSLHA, The Voice Foundation, The Northwest Voice Foundation, and WPATH. Sandy is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), Lessac-Madsen Resonant Voice Therapy (LMRVT), and Compton P-ESL accent modification. Throughout her career, Sandy has worked in diverse settings—including private practice (Give Voice), hospitals, clinics, home health, hospice, and schools—treating neurological and functional disorders affecting swallowing, voice, speech, language, and cognition. With over 25 years of experience, she is internationally recognized as an expert in voice and communication training for transgender and gender non-conforming individuals. She co-edited the seminal clinical guide Voice and Communication Training for the Transgender/Gender Diverse Client (3rd edition, 2019) and is an active member of the Seattle Ingersoll Gender Center consult group. Sandy has presented widely on transgender voice and communication and also provides voice training for public speakers, job seekers, and English language learners. Her unique blend of theater, singing, clinical voice expertise, and knowledge of French and German enriches her culturally sensitive and personalized approach to communication.
