Sharon Moss PhD, CCC-SLP, CAE
Sharon E. Moss, PhD, CCC-SLP, CAE, became the executive director of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation in October 2022. The ASHFoundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a professional membership organization for 228,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel; and students. Moss is responsible for the ASHFoundation’s leadership and management, fundraising, and mission-related program activities which include scholarship, research grant and special project initiatives. In her early career, Moss started as a high school biology educator and moved on to being a speech-language pathologist, clinical researcher, and service-provider in academic, health care, and biomedical research settings; a research administrator; and an association executive. In addition, during her career at ASHA, Moss has served in staff positions and has been a volunteer leader. As ASHA’s research integrity officer, she led research on ethics in education and publication practices. Her past volunteer service includes chairing panels, committees, subcommittees, and task forces. Most recently, she has served on ASHA’s Board of Directors as vice president for Standards and Ethics in Speech-Language Pathology. Beyond her work at ASHA, Moss has been a member of the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders Advisory Council and has served on the boards of the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing, as well as the American Heart Association (AHA) Mid-Atlantic Affiliate and AHA- Nation’s Affiliate. Board certified in Neurogenic Communication Disorders, she is an ASHA Fellow and a Certified Association Executive.
