Sofia Tilton, MS, CCC-SLP, is a bilingual speech-language pathologist and the owner of *Words of Wisdom*, a speech therapy clinic with multiple locations in Houston, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders and Psychology from the University of Houston in 2005, followed by a Master of Science in Speech Pathology from Texas Christian University (TCU) in 2008, where she also completed the Graduate Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology Program. Sofia began her career at TIRR Memorial Hermann inpatient rehabilitation hospital, serving on the Brain Injury and Stroke Program. Her clinical experience spans acute and inpatient rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, home health, and school-based services, including work with the Houston Independent School District. In 2013, she founded *Words of Wisdom*, where she provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for adults, adolescents, and children with communication and swallowing disorders. She is an active member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, serving on the Neurogenic Communication Disorders and Swallowing Disorders Special Interest Groups, and is also affiliated with the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Houston Association for Communication Disorders. Sofia serves on the board of directors for RSVP, a nonprofit supporting underinsured individuals with brain injury, spinal cord injury, and amputations. She has held multiple leadership roles within RSVP, including President from 2018 to 2021. Sofia is a frequent guest lecturer at conferences and universities, speaking on best practices in brain injury rehabilitation, particularly for Spanish-speaking populations. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys traveling with her husband and two daughters, scuba diving, spending time in Galveston, running, and playing the piano.
