Steven Richman, MD, MA, is a board-certified Family Physician and hospitalist with over twenty years of experience in the inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting. He is the co-owner and co-founder of Communication Rescue Services, LLC. Dr. Richman is passionate about connecting with patients during challenging periods of recovery, particularly those navigating stroke and brain injuries.
Recognizing the communication barriers faced by individuals with aphasia, Dr. Richman partnered with Hilary to deepen his understanding of supportive conversation techniques. Together, they developed the Guided Communication: Medical Concerns app, which integrates these techniques with comprehensive medical evaluation tools to improve care for patients with communication challenges.
Dr. Richman has presented at OSLHA, the OSLHA Learning Academy, AMPRA, and ASHA, sharing insights on enhancing communication in medical settings and advocating for more inclusive care practices. Unlimited
