Tamala H. Close, MS, CCC-SLP, is a proud Dallas, Texas native and accomplished speech-language pathologist and entrepreneur. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and her graduate degree from the esteemed Speech-Language Pathology program at Southern University A&M College. Tamala is the owner of Close to Perfection Speech Therapy Services, LLC, which provides contract speech therapy services to skilled nursing facilities, charter schools, and virtual educational settings. She also serves as the Director of Clinical Services for Diagnostic Assessment Services, Inc. Recognizing the need for community and mentorship, Tamala founded the SLP Private Practice in Color Facebook group—a space for clinicians of color to connect, share resources, and support one another in launching and growing private practices. Her mission is to empower others by fostering a collaborative environment where independent contractors and private practice owners can thrive together.
